About the work and its creation

How well can AI bring anime-style artwork to life? An opening sequence for an imaginary anime, with images made in Midjourney and animation created mainly with Vidu.

Testing anime-style movement

I wanted to find out how well AI could animate anime-style artwork. That experiment became this video.

The source images were mainly made with Midjourney. I learned more about creating an anime look as I went.

Finding the style in Midjourney

I experimented with anime-style characters and backgrounds. I hope you enjoy the atmosphere of the town as much as its inhabitants.

Animating mainly with Vidu

I used Kling and Vidu, leaning heavily on Vidu. I thought Kling was a very good video generator at the time, but with this anime style it didn't always give me the movement I wanted.

Vidu seemed to suit this artwork better, so it became the main tool. The visual style I'm aiming for also shapes which video generator I use.

On note, I explain Vidu and the process from making images to creating an AI anime music video. Take a look if you'd like to try something similar.

Tool versions and access to the content vary by article.
