About the work and its creation

An unusual song made in Suno kept playing in my head. The chaotic images it brought to mind became this music video, created mainly with Midjourney's image and video tools.

A red-haired figure and a crowd of creatures

It started with an unusual sound

I was making lots of songs in Suno, wanting to try different approaches instead of repeating the same kind of work.

One track had an unusual feel—an interesting set of sounds. It caught my attention, and I kept listening to it over and over.

As I listened, slightly chaotic images started appearing in my head. This video is my attempt to turn them into something you can see.

A giraffe and an enormous skull beneath a pink sky — A giraffe and a giant skull

Turning those images into artwork

I made the artwork in Midjourney, imagining unusual people and landscapes based on the strangeness I heard in the music.

The images on this page are frames taken from the music video.

A large white face floating among pink trees against a yellow background — A face among the trees

Most of the movement came from Midjourney, too

Almost all the video was made with Midjourney's video-generation feature.

What interested me was a slightly slippery, fluid quality to the movement. How unusual could the result become if I leaned into that? I figured it out by making and watching the scenes.
